Walk-in Humidor


A walk-in humidor (or cigar room) is a large-format humidor designed to store large quantities of cigars and boxes under stable humidity and temperature conditions.
Besides preservation, it offers maximum visibility and a superior shopping experience, which is why it is common in tobacconists and retail stores, though we also install them in homes, clubs, and hotels.

Materials and interior design

Spanish cedar lining

We line the interior with Spanish cedar (Cedrela odorata): it regulates humidity, adds aroma, and prevents pests such as the tobacco beetle.

Insulation and sealing

Walls, ceiling, and floor are conditioned with insulation and vapor barriers. We use airtight doors (optionally double-glazed) and sealed joints for maximum stability.

Air circulation

Airflow is carefully designed (grilles, chambers, and double cedar back panels) to ensure humidity is evenly distributed throughout the space.

LED lighting

We install cold LED lighting (high CRI, low heat) that does not damage cigars, combined with ambient lighting to enhance the display.

Branding and point-of-sale advertising

We integrate light boxes and signage from cigar brands or custom branding. Interchangeable canvases allow campaigns to be updated quickly and easily.

  • Shelves and trays for loose cigars, plus racks for full boxes.
  • Glass display areas for better visibility.
  • Quick capacity estimate: multiply shelf meters × boxes per meter (depending on format). We adapt the design to your real stock and rotation.

Humidity and temperature in the walk-in humidor

Conservation levels should be maintained at 65–72% relative humidity and between 16 and 23 °C (optimal 18–20 °C / 64–68 °F).

In large walk-in humidors, we install professional humidification and climate control systems, ensuring stable conditions throughout the entire space. These systems can be connected to the building’s water supply, though we often recommend independent tanks for better water quality control.
Moisture is distributed through PVC or stainless-steel ducts, providing durability and preventing oxidation problems.

Maintenance and best practices

  • Use of distilled water and regular level checks.
  • Monitoring RH/temperature and cleaning filters.
  • Rotating stock and organizing by brand/format.
